Deputy Head of Human Rights Department Receives Counselor of Russian Embassy in Iraq

The Deputy Head of the Human Rights Department  Mr. Muhammad Sahib Majeed met with the Russian embassy Counselor , Mr. Andrei Manelin. They  discussed in the meeting several files of interest to the two countries, stressing that Iraq always seeks to promote human rights issues according to its social and constitutional determinants and that all its positions is based on extensive and in-depth studies and data.

On his part, Mr. Andrei thanked the Iraqi government for its supportive stance on draft decisions related to human rights submitted by the government of the Russian Federation to the General Assembly, calling for continued support for these decisions in the future.

At the end of the meeting, the two sides stressed the importance of continuing coordination in a way that serves the interest of both countries and meets the aspirations of the two friendly peoples.
