Foreign Minister Meets with British Minister of State for Middle East Affairs
In the framework of strengthening the partnership and cooperation between Iraq and the United Kingdom, Foreign Minister Mr. Fuad Hussein met with the Minister of State for Middle East and North Africa, Mr. James Cleverley, at the headquarters of the British Foreign Office on 21/10/2021.
The meeting dealt with discussing the historical relations between the two friendly countries and discussing several files and important issues that are of interest to the two countries. Minister Fuad Hussein reviewed the economic reform priorities that the Iraqi government intends to implement during the next phase, as well as the most important security challenges facing Iraq and the region.
Minister Fuad confirmed the importance of the UK’s contribution to supporting the Iraqi government’s plan to rebuild the infrastructure, especially in the liberated areas, which will contribute greatly to the return of the displaced to their areas.
On his part, Mr. James Cleverley expressed the commitment of the United Kingdom to provide support to the Iraqi government in order to face security and economic challenges, stressing that his country will continue its efforts to build a stable and secure Iraq.
