The Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq in London Meets with Mr. James Cleverley, Minister of State for the Middle East and North Africa

Ambassador of Iraq in London Mr. Jaafar Muhammad Al-Sadr met with the Minister of State for the Middle East and North Africa, Mr. James Cleverley, at the headquarters of Foreign Commonwealth & Development Office

During the meeting, they discussed ways to strengthen bilateral relations between Iraq and the United Kingdom on various levels. The possibility of the UK playing a positive role in easing tensions in the region was also discussed.

Ambassador Al-Sadr affirmed the steadfast position of the Iraqi government towards providing full protection for diplomatic missions based on the friendly relations that bind Iraq with countries of the world and in compliance with international agreements and norms.

On his part, Mr. James praised the role of Iraq in addressing the challenges facing the country on the political, security and economic levels affirming UK’s continued support for the Iraqi government, and its determination to continue close cooperation in a way that contributes to restoring security and stability to the region.
