The Embassy of Republic of Iraq in Berlin Honours Musician Naseer Shamma on the Occasion of Renewing his Appointment as Ambassador of Peace to UNESCO

The Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in Berlin honoured the musician Naseer Shamma on the occasion of his renewing his appointment as Ambassador of Peace to UNESCO.

Mr. Ahmed Al-Saadi, Chargé d’Affairs a.i met with Mr. Shamma and stated that the embassy is proud of this great Iraqi achievement that contributes to raising the name of our country in international forums.

Mr. Al-Saadi stated that the embassy is in constant contact with the Iraqi cultural and scientific elites in Germany, pointing out that the embassy represents the Iraqi home, and keen to maintain contact with them.

On his part, the musician Mr. Naseer Shamma expressed his appreciation for the embassy’s initiative, indicating that he is preparing cultural activities in Berlin in cooperation with the Iraqi embassy which will open prospects for cultural cooperation between Iraq and Germany, and reflects the cultural and civilizational image of Iraq.

Its note worthy to mention that UNESCO renewed the appointment of musician Naseer Shamma as ambassador for peace for the second time , as an exception to its laws that allow the granting of the position once.
