Iraq Participates in General Conference of International Atomic Energy Agency

Iraq participated in the General Conference of the International Atomic Energy Agency at its sixty-fourth session, which was held at the Vienna International Center.

The Permanent Representative of Iraq to the Agency, Ambassador Bakr Fattah Hussein affirmed the Iraqi government’s support for the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, the international disarmament regime, and the full implementation of its basic system to ensure the peaceful use of nuclear energy in the service of all humanity.

The Ambassador stressed that the best solution to establish a zone free of nuclear weapons and weapons of mass destruction in the Middle East is for the international community to unite and strive for it.
