(FAO) Appoints Permanent Iraqi Representative to Position of Vice President of FAO Near East Group
The Near East Group in the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) appointed Ambassador Safia Taleb Al-Suhail, the Permanent Representative to the organization for the position of Vice President of the Near East Group, during the virtual meeting held Monday, September 7, 2020, chaired by the Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Sudan, Mr. Mohamed Abdel-Wahab Al-Hijazi. Ambassador Al-Suhail, the representative of Iraq to the United Nations was chosen with the participation and unanimity of 22 representatives of the countries for this position.
The Ambassador thanked the current head of the group and the former president, Mr. Yousef Al-Juhail, the permanent representative of Kuwait and the members for nominating Iraq for this position, and expressed her keenness and full commitment to provide the best possible support for the work and aspirations of the group members within the organization.
