Foreign Minister Mr. Fuad Hussein made several contacts with his Arab counterparts on the background of the blatant Turkish attack that caused the martyrdom of two Iraqi army officers and a soldier who were carrying out a mission to establish security on the border strip with the Turkish side by a drone in the Sidekan area in Erbil, Kurdistan to inform Arab brothers of the details of this attack, calling for the importance of concerted Arab efforts in response to these dangerous developments in the security situation with its neighbor Turkey, and to come up with a unified position that oblige Turkey to stop the repeating of these violations and to withdraw their forces invading Iraqi territory.
Minister Fuad Hussein contacted the Secretary General of the League of Arab States Mr. Ahmed Aboul Gheit, and also called his counterparts, Mr. Sameh Shukri, the Egyptian Foreign Ministe , Mr. Ayman Safadi, the Jordanian Foreign Minister, Prince Faisal bin Farhan, the Saudi Foreign Minister, and the Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Sheikh Ahmed Nasser. The Ministers affirmed their countries’ full support for the security and sovereignty of Iraq, and condemned the Turkish attacks, calling for the necessity of an immediate cessation of any Turkish military operations on Iraqi lands.
