Ambassador of Republic of Iraq in Cairo and Permanent Representative to League of Arab States Meets with Egyptian Minister of Health and Population
The Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq in Cairo and Permanent Representative to the League of Arab States, Dr. Ahmed Nayef Al-Dulaimi, met with the Egyptian Minister of Health and Population, Dr. Hala Zayed.
During the meeting they discussed the relations between the two countries in all fields, especially in health, in light of the current conditions facing the world as a result of the Coronavirus outbreak as well as preventive and curative measures in this regard.
The discussion focused on the possibility of supporting Iraq in providing drugs for the treatment of the Coronavirus this week.
The Ambassador expressed appreciation for Egypt’s fraternal initiative represented by the Prime Minister, Dr. Mostafa Madbouly directives in sending urgent medical assistance to Iraq to help support efforts to combat this pandemic.
Ambassador Al-Dulaimi praised the accomplishments of the Egyptian Ministry of Health in implementing preventive and curative health measures at the highest levels in the face of the pandemic, expressing his thanks and appreciation for the special care shown by the government to the Iraqi community residing in Egypt who are infected with Coronavirus in private hospitals in terms of material costs, and responding quickly to the treatment of the Iraqi citizen.
The Ambassador called for the importance of expediting the convening of the joint Iraqi-Egyptian High Committee to be held in Baghdad so the relevant authorities can activate the memorandum of understanding and files of bilateral cooperation to serve the two brotherly people.
On her part, Minister Dr. Hala Zayed, expressed the Egyptian political leadership’s keenness to support relations between the two countries, explaining that in the next (72) hours, the Egyptian Ministry of Health and Population will send urgent medical assistance to Iraq to contribute to support efforts to counter the Coronavirus in order to overcome this pandemic.
