Iraq Participates in Meeting of Arab Group in Geneva

The Chargé d’affaires and Permanent Representative of the Republic of Iraq to the United Nations Office in Geneva Mr. Abbas Kadhim Obaid participated at the Arab Group meeting in Geneva.
The meeting discussed coordination of Arab positions to participate in the upcoming 44th session of the Human Rights Council, reviewing some issues of common interest, and the importance of presenting a unified Arab position on them.
They also discussed the topic of Arab participation in the next meeting of the Arab Labor Organization to be held on 7/7/2020.
The Ambassador of the State of Palestine gave a brief presentation on the subject of annexation that the Israeli occupation intends in the Palestinian Arab territories.
In this regard, Mr. Abbas Kadhim stressed on the consistent position of Iraq in support of the Palestinian issue, and made a number of proposals to support dialogues on the Palestinian issue in the sessions of the Human Rights Council.
