Foreign Minister Gives Iraq Speech at Extraordinary Meeting of Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) States Ministers
Foreign Minister Mr. Fuad Hussein confirmed that Iraq supports Arab and Islamic efforts to address the threats of the Israeli occupation to annex parts of the Palestinian territories, including the West Bank, the Jordan Valley, and the northern Dead Sea among others.
The Minister began his speech by condemning these threats, stressing the importance of uniting efforts to take action by the international community to confront it since it undermines the rights of our people in Palestine, threatens international peace and security, and contravenes the purposes of the United Nations.
This came in a speech given by the Minister at the virtual extraordinary meeting through a closed circuit television at the level of Foreign Ministers of the OIC countries.
The Minister concluded his speech by stating that Iraq stresses its permanent and firm stance towards the Palestinian issue, and the right of the Palestinian people to establish their independent state with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.
The Minister expressed Iraq’s support for the decision issued on September 15, 2019 by the extraordinary meeting of the Council of Ministers of Member States, which stipulated that these threats should be addressed, and that all political and legal steps should be taken to confront them in accordance with international legitimacy resolutions.
