Two Iraqi Airways Flights Return Stranded Iraqi Citizens in India
The Foreign Ministry in coordination with the Crisis Cell , the Ministry of Transport, and the follow-up of the Foreign Minister, the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in New Delhi, in the presence of Ambassador Dr. Falah Abdul-Hassan Al-Saadi and the diplomatic staff conducted two extraordinary Iraqi Airways flight from New Delhi towards Baghdad with 400 Iraqi patients and tourist groups stranded in India.
According to the approval of the Diwan Command Committee (55) for the year 2020, the embassy of the Republic of Iraq has announced through its website its intention and in coordination with the crisis cell formed in the Iraqi Foreign Ministry and the rest of the concerned ministries and the Office of Iraqi Airways, and in conjunction with the repercussions of the emerging Coronavirus crisis, the conducting of exceptional trips to return Iraqi citizens stranded in India to Baghdad, after cooperation with the relevant Indian authorities, stressing that this comes in the framework of Iraq’s gover state’s interest in its citizens abroad, and its endeavors to solve the crisis.
Mr. Falah Abdul Hassan Al-Saadi, the ambassador of the Republic of Iraq in New Delhi thanked and expressed his appreciated for the continuous cooperation and coordination with the Indian authorities, and their speedy response to conduct these flights despite the implementation of the Indian authorities curfew.
