Phone Call between Foreign Minister Mr. Fuad Hussein and Jordanian Counterpart Mr. Ayman Al-Safadi

Foreign Minister Mr. Fuad Hussein affirmed Iraq’s keenness to establish strong relations with neighboring countries, to distant itself from bias policy, and any regional and international conflicts in the area. This came in a phone call that brought together Ministers Mr. Fuad Hussein and Mr. Al-Safadi:

Minister Fuad Hussein stressed the importance of advancing in achieving the decisions of the meetings held between the officials of the two countries, and the tripartite summit between Iraq, Jordan and Egypt to be a model for the rest of the countries of the region in building strategic relations based on common interests and facing the challenges of terrorism and regional crises, and contributing to creating a system for peace and stability in the region.

The Minister touched on a number of national issues, including the need for joint action at regional and international levels to prevent other countries from interfering in the internal affairs of Iraq and protect its sovereignty, pointing out that internal stability is reflected in the stability of the region and explained that the tension leads to destabilization of the security situation in the region, and thus international peace is affected.

On his part, Mr. Al-Safadi stressed the need to respect the sovereignty of Iraq and join all efforts to support the Iraqi government, especially in the field of enhancing security, stability and the rule of law.
