The Ambassador of Republic of Iraq to Islamabad Receives Pakistani Minister of Religious Affairs

The Ambassador of Republic of Iraq, Mr. Hamid Abbas Lafta met with Mr. Noor-ul-Haq Qadri , Minister of Religious Affairs at the embassy.

The two sides discussed the issue of the religious visit to Iraq for this year for of its great importance to Muslims in the world.

The Ambassador confirmed that the Iraqi government is studying the issue of the Arbaeen visit of Imam Hussein – peace be upon him – and the possibilities presented in this regard, expressing the mission’s readiness for the success of this visit if instructions are issued regarding it.

On his part, Mr. Noor-ul-Haq Qadri confirmed that the Ministry of Religious Affairs and the Pakistani Ministry of Health are working in coordination with the Pakistani Crisis Cell to prepare an action plan for organizing the religious visit, and sending a medical team from the Pakistani Ministry of Health to Iraq to follow up on the affairs of their pilgrims and he requested reducing the number of Pakistani visitors for this year taking into account the health conditions, and for the success of the visit.

The Ambassador expressed his full support for these measures in compliance with the decisions issued regarding the Coronavirus pandemic, and for the safety of all.
