The Foreign Minister Affirms that Developing Bilateral Relations with France is a Gateway to European Union

Foreign Minister Mr. Fuad Hussein met with Mr. Jean-Jacques Bridey, head of the Iraqi-French Friendship Committee in the French National Assembly.

Minister Fuad Hussein thanked France for its active role in combating terrorism, praising the progress in bilateral relations, as it is considered a gateway to strong relations with the European Union.

The two sides also discussed the importance of strengthening the strategic partnership between the two countries on the economic, political and cultural levels.

On his part, Mr. Bridey stated that the exchange of high-level visits reflects the rapid progress in bilateral relations between Iraq and France, stressing that his country is looking forward to establishing strong and strategic relations with Iraq at all levels, expressing his satisfaction with the level of the relationship between the two countries.

Mr. Bridey also expressed his condemnation of the Turkish military violations in Iraq, pointing to France’s willingness to support Iraq to play a pivotal role in the region.
