The Arab Ministerial Committee in Charge of Following up on Turkish Interventions in Arab Internal Affairs Holds Meeting via Video Conference

The Arab Ministerial Committee concerned with following up on Turkish interventions in Arab internal affairs was held under the presidency of the Arab Republic of Egypt, and the membership of Iraq, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Jordan, and the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States.

The meeting discussed a number of issues, including Turkish interventions in the affairs of Arab countries, the latest developments of the Palestinian cause in light of recent developments, as well as the discussion of strengthening joint Arab action.

The delegation of the Republic of Iraq was headed by the Foreign Ministry Senior Undersecretary, Mr. Abdul Karim Hashim Mustafa, who represented the Foreign Minister.

The Undersecretary called for the necessity of resolving disputes through dialogue and peaceful means, and to avoid military solutions and reviewed the most important issues and challenges facing the Arab countries, the joint Arab action in light of the circumstances the Arab region is going through, and the regional and international interventions that some of its countries are witnessing.

The meeting issued a statement condemning the aggressive Turkish interference in the internal affairs of Arab countries, especially Iraq, Libya and Syria. Since it represents a threat to the cohesion of the state and its institutions, and contributes to strengthening the sectarian and religious divide through direct military violations.

The statement also indicated the committee’s assertion of the illegality of the Turkish military presence in the Arab countries, and the need to withdraw all its forces without restrictions or conditions.

The statement also called on the Turkish regime to immediately stop violating the water rights of Iraq and Syria through its building of dams on the sources of the Tigris and Euphrates rivers.

The statement concluded with the solidarity of the committee with all Arab countries affected by the Turkish interventions, and their support for all the measures taken to confront those aggressive policies.
