The Ambassador of Republic of Iraq to Italy Holds Meeting at Embassy Headquarters with Italian Foreign Trade and Investment Agency

The Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to Italy Mrs. Safia Taleb Al-Suhail held a meeting at the embassy headquarters with a delegation from the Italian Agency for Foreign Trade and Investment (the Agency for Foreign Trade and Internationalization of Italian Companies) headed by Mr. Carlo Ferrero and Director General of the Agency Mr. Roberto Lonko and in the presence of Mr. Jan Clemente de Fleege in charge of the (Gulf, Iraq, Iran, and Yemen) at the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs to discuss ways to strengthen economic and trade relations between the two friendly countries, and the importance of establishing bridges for joint cooperation between the Iraqi and Italian private sectors.
They also discussed priorities and mechanisms that contribute to the work of joint projects, and the importance of increasing the volume of exports between them.
Mr. Ferrero presented a summary of the agency’s work and its objectives in promoting Italian companies abroad in coordination with the Foreign Trade Insurance Company and the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Ambassador Al-Suhail affirmed the Iraqi government’s keenness to establish the best economic relations between the two countries in light of the good relations that bind them, and the great role that Italy played in supporting Iraq at all levels, stating the embassy’s readiness to provide support to facilitate the establishment of visits and the holding of mutual meetings between the parties concerned with investment and foreign trade.
