The Ambassador of Republic of Iraq Accredited to the Holy See Meets with Substitute for Secretariat of State

The Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq accredited to the Holy See Mr. Rahman Farhan Al-Amiri met with the Substitute for the Secretariat of State, Monsignor Edgar Peña Parra in his office in the building of the Holy See Foreign Ministry.

Ambassador Al-Amiri expressed his great pleasure to work as Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to the Holy See, and that he will do his best to develop relations between Iraq and the Vatican in a way that serves humanity and peace in the whole world, and that Iraq government and people look forward to the historic visit of His Holiness the Pope to Iraq and the city of Ur the birth place of Abraham (peace be upon him).

On his part, Monsignor Edgar Peña Para welcomed the Ambassador, wishing him success in his duties, and affirmed the Holy See’s keenness to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries.
