Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein Confirms that Japan is an Important Partner for Iraq in Reconstruction

Foreign Minister Mr. Fuad Hussein met with the Japanese Ambassador to Iraq, Mr. Naofumi Hashimoto.
The two sides discussed ways to improve the prospects of the historical and strategic bilateral relations between Baghdad and Tokyo.
Minister Fuad Hussein considered that Japan is an important partner in the reconstruction process, pointing to the importance of expanding the scope of bilateral cooperation in the field of supporting the reconstruction of infrastructure in the areas liberated from the grip of terrorism.
Minister Fuad Hussein expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Japanese Ambassador following the end of his tenure in Iraq, and for what he presented to Iraq in terms of consolidating and praising the bilateral relations in a manner consistent with the interests of the two friendly countries,
On his part, the Japanese Ambassador Mr. Naofumi Hashimoto renewed his government’s interest in strengthening relations with Baghdad, and keenness to keep Iraq from being an arena for external conflicts.
