Iraq Participates in Meetings of Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization

The Permanent Representative of Iraq, Ambassador Bakr Fattah Hussain, participated in the interim preparatory committee for the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty (CTBTO) in the first virtual meeting organized by the committee to discuss the work of Working Group (A) concerned with the financial affairs of the Commission, and projects for monitoring, verification and inspection sites and to ensure that no nuclear test was made.
  The Ambassador affirmed the stable position of Iraq in supporting the CTBTO treaty and focusing on Iraq’s call to the importance of solidarity and working together through multi-diplomacy in these exceptional circumstances to confront the threat of the Coronavirus pandemic.
  The meeting was chaired by Ambassador Nada Crocker, the periodic chair of the committee and the participation of Mr. Lazina Zerbo, the executive secretary of the committee in addition to 140 representatives from the ratifying states and members of the treaty.
