Foreign Minister Meets Swedish Minister of International Development Cooperation
Foreign Minister Mr. Mohamad A. Alhakim met with Swedish Minister of International Development Cooperation Mr. Peter Eriksson. The two sides discussed several economic, commercial, environmental issues in addition to reconstruction projects in Iraq, especially in the liberated areas, and discussed extending the Swedish strategy to help Iraq.
The Minister expressed his pride in the volume of cooperation and existing relations with the Swedish side, stressing the great interest Iraq attributes to the requirements to reach the goals of sustainable development.
As part of the support in international exchange of the two sides discussed the support for Iraq in international positions giving it the ability to communicate and contribute to the drawing up its international strategy.
The meeting witnessed a convergence of views on advancing comprehensive development to meet the aspirations of the two countries, contributing to improving the standard of living and overcoming economic challenges.
On his part, Minister Eriksson expressed his country’s support for Iraq, and the government’s efforts in the field of promoting democracy, fighting corruption and optimal management of water resources.
