Foreign Minister Meets with Dutch Minister of Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation
Foreign Minister Mr. Mohamad A. Alhakim met with Dutch Minister of Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation Ms. Sigrid Kaag as part of his visit to the Kingdom of the Netherlands to strengthen bilateral relations between the two friendly countries and increase coordination in international issues of common interest, especially those related to investment in the fields of agriculture, livestock and management, water, support of private sector, and benefit from the Dutch experience in creating jobs for young people in Iraq.
Minister Alhakim touched on the latest developments in Iraq, the government reforms, and the expected results in the size of the employment of the labor force and the Iraqi GDP.
Minister Alhakim stressed the importance of cooperation in the field of water resources, exchange of experiences and capacity building in utilization of water resources and to achieve optimal water management.
Minister Kaag praised Iraq’s role in maintaining the balance in the region, stressing that her country seeks to achieve bilateral cooperation by financing a number of development projects throughout the country, especially in the water sector in Basra.
