Foreign Minister Meets with Dutch Migration Minister

Foreign Minister Mr. Mohamad A. Alhakim met with Dutch Minister of Migration Ms. Ankie Broekers. During the meeting, they discussed the possibility of cooperation between the Migration Ministries of both countries. Minister Alhakim expressed Baghdad’s keenness to seek opportunities to exchange common interests between the two friendly peoples in the field of capacity building, skills, knowledge , border management, development of port control staff, authentication of travel documents, and the adoption of advanced and modern techniques in this regard.

Minister Alhakim stressed the importance of providing support to the Iraqi community residing in the Netherlands, noting that the law prohibits the use of forced repatriation of migrants outside the country, and stated that terrorism and extremism is a global threat which threatens social peace in all countries of the world, and the world must join efforts to eliminate this threat
