Foreign Minister Meets Iranian Counterpart Mr. Mohammad Javad Zarif

Foreign Minister Mr. Mohamad A. Alhakim met with his Iranian counterpart Mr.  Mohammad  Javad Zarif on the sidelines of meeting of the head of States and government of Non-Aligned Movement in Baku.

Minister Alhakim expressed Iraq’s keenness to develop relations with Iran, and promote all that would achieve the common interests between our two countries, which is an important strategy in Iraqi diplomacy.

The two Ministers also discussed the importance of concerted efforts to ease tensions and the crises facing the region in addition to the prevailing language of dialogue and the adoption of political solutions to restore security and stability in the region.

The two sides exchanged views and ideas on the Non-Aligned Movement capabilities in this difficult situation in the region, and develop its performance further to meet the challenges of the stage.
