The Ambassador of Republic of Iraq in Cairo Meets Head of the Cultural Affairs and Missions Sector at the Egyptian Ministry of Higher Education

The Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq in Cairo, and Permanent Representative to the Arab League Dr. Ahmed Nayef Al-Dulaimi met with the Head of the Cultural Affairs and Missions Sector at the Ministry of Higher Education in the Arab Republic of Egypt Dr. Kamelia Sobhy, and Director of International Students Department  Ms. Rasha Kamal.

During the meeting, they discussed the situation of Iraqi students in Egyptian universities and the importance of opening a cultural attaché to the Republic of Iraq in Cairo to follow up their affairs on all university levels.

The Ambassador affirmed the Embassy’s support to the student affairs authorities to overcome the obstacles that accompany their admission process and to facilitate , appreciating the role of the Cultural Affairs and Missions Sector and the management of international students in their cooperation with the Embassy and providing facilities for students.

On her part the Director of the Cultural Affairs and Missions sector explained the directives of the Minister of Higher Education in the Arab Republic of Egypt require the provision of facilities and support for Iraqi students; The Director of the Department of International students Ms. Rasha Kamal said that the number of Iraqi students who applied for admission to Egyptian universities for the academic year 2019-2020 amounted to 1878 students, noting that this number is twice the number recorded last year
