The Ambassador of Republic of Iraq in Helsinki Meets the Newly Appointed Finnish Ambassador to Iraq
Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq in Helsinki Mr. Matheel Dhaif Al-Sabti met at the Finnish Foreign Ministry with the newly appointed Ambassador to Iraq, Mr. Vesa_Häkkinen, who will take up his duties as Ambassador to Baghdad from 15, Nov. 2019.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Ambassador congratulated his Finnish counterpart on his assumption of his new position and the reopening of the Finnish Embassy in Baghdad, wishing him success. After welcoming and courtesy speeches between the two sides, Mr. Häkkinen asked the Ambassador to give him a detailed explanation on the nature of the relations and the most prominent issues related to the two countries. The most important projects that are being accomplished, the Ambassador reviewed the history and nature of relations and development between Iraq and Finland, also touched on the needs of Iraq for support of friendly countries in all fields, and the importance of cooperation with the Finnish companies, indicating the desire of the Iraqi government for support of the process of reconstruction and cooperation with international companies.
On his part, Mr. Hakkinen stated that the Finnish Foreign Ministry is ready to coordinate with Finnish companies on the need for Iraq services related to infrastructure and projects of electric power and water purification, by determining what projects the Iraqi government wants to accomplish.
