Head of Human Rights Department Receives Joint Delegation from European Union Office and British Embassy in Baghdad

Head of Human Rights Department Ms. Barikhan Shawqi received the team on the human rights file in the EU office in Baghdad, chaired by Mr. Jean Bernard Bolvan and Vice-President of the EU office Mr. Daryl Crooks and Political Officer in the British Embassy in ​​Baghdad.

During the meeting, a number of files and topics were discussed  concerning the (42) session of the Human Rights Council held in Geneva from 9- 27/09/2019, in order to coordinate the positions of Iraq (as a member of the Human Rights Council).

At the end of the meeting, the Head of the Human Rights Department welcomed the delegation, stressing Iraq’s readiness to engage and cooperate with the European Union and the United Kingdom in the field of human rights.
