The Ambassador of Republic of Iraq in Abu Dhabi Presents Credentials as Representative of Iraq to International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA)
The Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to the United Arab Emirates, Mr. Zaid Izzeldin Mohammed Nouri presented his credentials as the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Iraq in the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) to Mr. Francesco La Camara, Director General of the Agency, who expressed his welcome and happiness for the Iraqi step, as it will contribute to the strengthening cooperation between Iraq and the Agency.
On his part, the Ambassador stressed his keenness to participate in the activities of the Agency and conferences and to benefit from the experiences of developed countries in the field of renewable energy, stressing that the plans of the competent authorities in Iraq in the next phase is to focus on the use of clean energy, because of its great importance and positive impact on the environment. The Ambassador also pointed to the active participation of Iraq in the 24th World Energy Conference held in Abu Dhabi from 9 to 12 September 2019 with the presence of Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Mr. Thamer Al Ghadhban and Minister of Electricity Mr. Louay Al Khatib, and their emphasis on the importance of renewable energy in the sessions that took place on the sidelines of the conference.
