The Permanent Representative of Iraq in Geneva Meets Director of the Regional Arab Office of the World Intellectual Property Organization

The Permanent Representative of the Republic of Iraq to the United Nations Office at Geneva Ambassador Hussein Mahmoud Al-Khatib met with the Director of Arab Regional Office of World Intellectual Property Organization Mr. Walid Abdel Nasser in his office on 30/07/2019.

The two sides stressed the importance of enhancing intellectual property and benefiting from its resources to build the infrastructure of developing economies. They also discussed the prospects for future cooperation within capacity building programs and benefiting from legal advice for the purpose of harmonizing Iraqi legislation and the latest international conventions on intellectual property.

The Permanent Representative of the Republic of Iraq stressed the rebuilding of Iraq’s economy by Iraqi’s and  that Iraq is looking forward to activating work with the World Intellectual Property Organization and benefiting from its expertise to develop this vital sector in Iraq.
