The Head of the European Department Meets with Deputy Head of EU Mission in Baghdad

The Head of Europe Department, Mr. Ali Shimran met with Deputy Head of the European Union Mission in Baghdad, Mr. Thomas Ortega, on the occasion of finishing his work in Iraq. The two sides reviewed the areas of cooperation between Iraq and the European Union and means of strengthening them under the framework of the cooperation agreement between the two sides, and stressing the importance of activating  the subcommittees of the agreement and setting  a timetable after the arrival of the new staff of the European Union mission, and resuming  the dialogue on migration to encourage voluntary return and the refusal of forced  return ,  in addition to  removing Iraq from the draft list of high-risk countries in the field of combating money laundering and terrorism financing, in addition to lifting the ban on Iraqi Airways and the prohibition of European Airlines flights to Iraqi airspace through joint cooperation and support of Iraq.
