Foreign Ministry Undersecretary for Legal and Multilateral Affairs Participates in African Regional High-Level Conference on Counter-Terrorism and the Prevention of Violent Extremism Conducive to Terrorism
The delegation of Iraq, headed by Ambassador Hazim Al-Youssifi, Foreign Ministry Undersecretary for Legal and Multilateral Affairs in addition to the Permanent Representative of Iraq to the United Nations in Nairobi, Ambassador Burhan Namik, participated in the meetings of the African Regional High-Level Conference on Counter-Terrorism and the Prevention of Violent Extremism Conducive to Terrorism at the headquarters of the United Nations Office in Nairobi for the period 10 – 11/7/2019, with the participation of more than 100 countries and the presence of more than 1400 personalities from different countries, organizations and agencies of the United Nations as well as civil society organizations. The conference was inaugurated by United Nations Secretary, Mr. Antonio Guterres, Kenya’s President Mr. Uhuru, and the Chairperson of the African Union Commission Mr. Musa Faki. The aim of this conference is to unite efforts and cooperation among the countries of the world, especially the African countries, in order to reach a goal that enables the world to get rid of the great scourge of terrorism.
