The Permanent Representation of Republic of Iraq in Geneva Holds Side Event with Permanent Representation of Poland and Brazil on Violence and Religious Persecution
The Permanent Representation of the Republic of Iraq to the United Nations Office at Geneva, together with the Permanent Representation of Poland and the Permanent Representative of Brazil, held a side event at the United Nations Palace in Geneva on violence and religious persecution on 8/7/2019 on the sidelines of the 41st Session of the Human Rights Council.
The Permanent Representative of the Republic of Iraq, Ambassador Dr. Hussein Mahmoud Al-Khateeb, addressed the event referring to the violations suffered by the Iraqi people in general and religious minorities in particular by Daesh terrorist gangs and also referred to government measures in their evacuation, accommodation, relief and protection. As well as the role of civil society organizations and the role of clerics in providing assistance to displaced people.
