Ambassador of Republic of Iraq in Moscow Meets Member of Committee on International Affairs of the State Duma

Ambassador of Iraq in Moscow Mr. Haidar Mansour Hadi Al-Athari met with Mr.Evgeny Primakov, member of Committee on International Affairs of the State Duma and Advisor to the President of the Russian State Duma for International Affairs and Humanitarian Affairs. The meeting discussed the possibility of activating parliamentary cooperation between the two countries.

Ambassador Al-Athari stressed the need to activate parliamentary cooperation between the Iraqi Council of Representatives and the Federal State Duma through the parliamentary friendship committee, and stressed that Iraq looks forward to increasing cooperation with the Russian Federation in all fields pointing out that the seventy-fifth anniversary of Iraqi-Russian diplomatic relations in September is proof of the depth and history of relations between the two countries.

On his part, Mr.Evgeny Primakov discussed the political developments taking place in the region, particularly in Iran stressing the corresponding political narratives between Iraq and Russia on the issue of non-escalation and resolving the outstanding issues through peaceful dialogue.
