Permanent Representative of Republic of Iraq to United Nations in Geneva Presents Credentials
The Permanent Representative of the Republic of Iraq to the United Nations at Geneva, Mr. Hussein Mahmood Al-Khatib, presented his credentials to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva, Mr. Michael Møller.
The Permanent Representative was received by Mr. Sergey Shaposhnikov, Chief of Protocol at the United Nations, who accompanied the Permanent Representative Mr. Hussein Khatib to Mr. Michael Møller and then exchanged welcoming words.
The Permanent Representative conveyed the greetings of Foreign Minister Mr. Mohamad A. Alhakim to Mr. Michael Møller and the United Nations leadership in Geneva, where Iraq attaches great importance to the work of the International Organization in Iraq and the world. The Permanent Representative then highlighted the general policy of the Iraqi Government, which is represented in moderation and non-alignment to any party in regional conflicts. And expressed that Iraq stands at one distance from all parties and calls for resolving differences through dialogue and peaceful means , which is highlighted by Iraq in its policy in all regional and international forums.
On his part, Mr. Michael Møller welcomed the new Permanent Representative of Iraq and promised to provide all possible assistance to Iraq and wished him success in his new work.
