Ambassador of Republic of Iraq in Doha Receives the Secretary General of Forum of Gas Exporting Countries

Ambassador of Iraq in Qatar Mr. Omar Al-Barzanji received Dr. Yuri Centurin, Secretary-General of the Forum of Gas Exporting Countries, at the Embassy’s headquarters.

During the visit, they discussed the most important developments in the energy market in the region and the importance of Iraq being part of this system effectively and permanently as an energy producing country.  Dr. Yuri invited the Ambassador to visit the headquarters of the forum and to see the progress of work and in order for Iraq to be a permanent member in this Forum now being an observer member.

On his part, the Ambassador expressed his  readiness to meet the invitation and participate in the events, and  expressed that the embassy will be present in all events in the forum and will work in turn to transfer developments to the competent technical bodies in the Iraqi Ministry of Oil to pave the way for cooperation.
