The Ambassador of Republic of Iraq to Riyadh Meets with Secretary General of Gulf Cooperation Council

The Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to Riyadh Dr. Qahtan Taha Khalaf met with the Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council Mr. Abdul Latif Rashid Al-Zayani to discuss the situation in Iraq and the government’s actions in implementing reforms.

Ambassador Taha stressed the importance of Iraq in the region despite the circumstances it has gone through, and the Iraqi people have proven social cohesion among its components, and its ability to overcome all difficulties; to rise again, and have an active regional role at the level of the region and pointed out that Saudi and Gulf investments in Iraq will achieve a mutual benefit for both sides;

The Ambassador praised the efforts exerted by the Secretary-General to activate the joint action plan between Iraq and the GCC, calling for support from the Secretariat in urging the GCC countries to support Iraq in the areas of trade and investment;

The Secretary-General pointed out that the GCC countries are keen on the stability of Iraq, and are ready to strengthen cooperation to achieve economic recovery for the people.
