Iraqi Ambassador in Brussels Receives Director of EU Trust Fund in Response to Syrian Crisis (MADAD)

Iraqi Ambassador to Brussels Mr. Sadiq Al-Rikabi received at the embassy headquarters the new Director of the European Union Regional Trust Fund in Response to the Syrian Crisis (MADAD).

 Ambassador Al-Rikabi welcomed Ms. Miller, expressing the Embassy’s support in her new duties as Director of this Fund, which works to provide support and humanitarian assistance to Syrian refugees and host communities, and called on Ms. Miller to increase support for new projects in Iraq within the 2020 budget allocated to the Fund.

Iraq is one of the countries directly affected by the crisis in Syria and is one of the host communities for Syrian refugees.

On her part, Ms. Miller thanked the Ambassador for the support, stressing that since its establishment, the Fund has allocated approximately (150) million Euros to support projects in Iraq.
