Foreign Minister Meets his Finnish Counterpart Mr. Pekka Haavisto

Foreign Minister Mr. Mohamad A. Alhakim met with Finnish Foreign Minister Mr. Pekka Haavisto on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York.

The two Ministers discussed bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to upgrade them to meet the aspirations of the two friendly countries. They also discussed regional and international issues of common concern.

Minister Alhakim stressed that Iraq is keen to establish balanced relations based on the exchange of common interests, and to face common challenges.

The two Ministers also touched on the importance of combating terrorism and extremism to achieve security because it poses an international threat that could spread to other countries calling for concerted international efforts to confront this danger in order to achieve development and prosperity for the peoples of the world.
