Iraq Participates in Quartet Ministerial Meeting on the Future of Syrian Refugees

Foreign Minister Mr. Mohamad A. Alhakim participated as a representative of Iraq, in the meeting that brought together Jordan, Lebanon and Turkey on the sidelines of the 74th UN General Assembly to discuss the best ways to help displaced Syrians and refugees.
The meeting focused primarily on discussing the humanitarian dimension, trying to increase support for refugees, as well as discussing the economic, social and cultural implications of the lack of their return.
The meeting called on the community to renew its support to the Syrian people, both inside Syria and in neighboring countries: Jordan, Lebanon, Turkey, and Iraq.
This meeting is an opportunity to identify additional efforts to highlight the need and to strengthen cooperation between the meeting countries and the international community.
