Foreign Ministry Undersecretary Mr. Moayad Saleh Meets the Russian President’s Envoy to Middle East and North Africa Mr. Mikhail Baghdanov in Moscow

Foreign Ministry Undersecretary, Mr.  Moyed Saleh met with Mr. Mikhail Baghdanov, the envoy of the Russian President for the Middle East and North Africa and the Deputy Foreign Minister, in the presence of the Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to the Russian Federation to discuss bilateral relations and ways of developing them. The two sides discussed the most important developments in the region, where Mr. Moayad expressed the need to find international understandings in the field of mutual respect among all the countries of the region and to prevail the guiding dialogue to resolve most of the political problems, noting that Iraq’s foreign policy emphasizes the need to work away from bias policy adding that Iraq has enjoyed good relations with most countries in the region. Mr. Moayad Saleh stated that in regard to the development of bilateral relations between Iraq and Russia, Iraq is looking forward to further cooperation with the Russian Federation, as the celebration of both countries to mark the 75th anniversary of the establishment of bilateral diplomatic relations necessitates the development of cooperation at a level befitting such a long history.

On his part, Mr. Mikhail Baghdanov stressed that Russia views Iraq as a vital partner with which it has advanced relations in various fields, hoping that this cooperation will continue further, adding that Russia has a real desire to increase the number of companies operating in Iraq in order to increase economic cooperation between the two countries.
