Foreign Minister Meets British Secretary of State for Middle East Affairs

Foreign Minister Mohamad A. Alhakim met with British Secretary of State for Middle East Affairs, Mr. Andrew Murrison and discussed the bilateral relations between the two countries. Minister Alhakim stressed that Iraq seeks to establish the best relations to serve the interests of the two countries, noting that Iraq is a fertile environment for investment for its security and stability, calling for the need of the participation of British companies in the reconstruction of infrastructure, and to benefit from their experience in the development of the country.

The meeting also discussed ways to open new prospects for cooperation between the two countries and facilitate the granting of entry visas to Iraqis wishing to visit Britain. The minister expressed his appreciation for Britain’s support for Iraq.
